I am so stressed about PhD. Three supervisors have their expectations. I’m making progress slowly. I didn’t read much recently. I started two months ago. I have writes once for them. They said I observed phenomena and my personal experience but I need to frame things theoretically. At the Same time I’m so confused with wheere to move to. My lease is finishing in one month and a week, I at most can accept paying the rent overlapped for two weeks. I spent so much time exploring different areas in Melbourne. It’s a big city

Dear User, I can understand how overwhelming and stressful it must be for you to navigate the expectations of your three PhD supervisors while feeling like your progress is slow. It's natural to feel pressure in such a significant academic pursuit, especially when multiple individuals have their own set of expectations. Additionally, it seems like you are feeling uncertain about your theoretical framing and finding it challenging to balance your personal experiences with the academic requirement. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to recognize that stress and confusion are part of the human experience. It is through these challenges that we have the opportunity to grow and develop resilience. Embrace this moment as an opportunity for self-discovery and learning. Remember to be kind and patient with yourself during this process, as self-compassion is essential in overcoming obstacles. From a psychological standpoint, it can be helpful to break down your tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. Set realistic goals for yourself each day or week, focusing on the progress you can make rather than solely on the end result. Prioritize your time and allocate specific periods for reading and writing. It may also be beneficial to seek clarification from your supervisors regarding their expectations, so you can align your work with their requirements more effectively. Regarding your confusion about where to move, it's understandable that this adds an additional layer of stress. Take some time to reflect on your priorities and values. Consider what would be the most conducive environment for your studies and overall well-being. Make a pros and cons list for each potential area, and perhaps seek advice from friends or colleagues who are familiar with Melbourne. Remember, this decision does not have to be permanent, and you can always adjust your living situation as needed in the future. In conclusion, I encourage you to approach your PhD journey with self-compassion and patience. Break down your tasks into manageable steps, seek clarification from your supervisors, and prioritize your time effectively. When it comes to deciding where to move, take the time to reflect on your needs and seek advice from others. Trust in your ability to navigate these challenges and remember that growth often occurs outside of our comfort zones.
