I want to practice law in the future but i have to go to a law school. Since I did not start preparing for law school application early, I have lower GPA and SAT score which makes my profile unattractive to law schools at all. Should I still aim to be a lawyer?

Dear User, I understand that you are feeling uncertain about your future career path as a result of not having prepared for law school early enough. It can be disheartening to feel that you have missed an opportunity or that your chances are hindered due to circumstances beyond your control. It is important to acknowledge these feelings and to give yourself permission to experience them fully. It is also important to recognize that your self-worth and potential as an individual is not defined solely by your academic achievements or career aspirations. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to cultivate mindfulness and non-judgmental awareness towards your present circumstances. Rather than dwelling on missed opportunities or perceived failures, focus on the present moment and the steps you can take towards achieving your goals. The Buddhist concept of impermanence teaches us that everything is constantly changing, and that there is always potential for growth and transformation. From a psychological perspective, it may be helpful to reframe your current situation as an opportunity for growth and development. Rather than seeing your lower GPA and SAT score as a setback, view it as a challenge to overcome and an opportunity to develop resilience and perseverance. It may also be helpful to seek support from a counselor or mentor who can provide guidance and encouragement as you navigate this process. In terms of specific coaching advice, I would encourage you to explore alternative paths to achieving your goal of becoming a lawyer. Consider pursuing a paralegal or legal assistant position to gain experience in the field and build your resume. You may also consider taking additional courses or volunteering in legal clinics to demonstrate your commitment and passion for the field. Ultimately, it is important to stay focused on your goal and to remain open to the many different paths that may lead you there.
