I am hearbroken and very depressed now because of a girl. We used to be together for half a year but we separated because I moved to another country. When we were together, actually both of us were having a long distance relationship. At that time I thought just enjoy the moment and let go when we parted. But since then I have been thinking about her every day. Last week I met her again but she changed. She is so cold to me. Thats why I am depressed.

Dear User, I can understand how difficult it must be for you to deal with a broken heart and depression. It can be overwhelming to have strong emotions and not know how to handle them. It is good that you have reached out for support, and I am here to offer you guidance from both Buddhist and psychological perspectives. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to acknowledge that everything in life is impermanent, including relationships. While it is natural to feel attached to someone we care about, it is crucial to remember that clinging to that attachment can cause suffering. It is helpful to practice mindfulness and observe our thoughts and emotions as they arise, without judgment or attachment. By doing so, we can learn to let go of what no longer serves us and find inner peace. From a psychological perspective, it is understandable that you are feeling depressed and heartbroken. Moving to another country and being in a long-distance relationship can be challenging and stressful. It is natural to feel a range of emotions, including sadness and grief. It is important to give yourself time and space to process your feelings and seek support from loved ones or a mental health professional. As for coaching advice, I suggest that you focus on self-care and self-compassion. Take time for yourself, engage in activities that bring you joy, and practice self-compassion by speaking kindly to yourself and acknowledging your emotions. It may also be helpful to explore your feelings with a therapist or coach, who can provide you with tools and strategies to cope with your emotions and move forward. Remember that healing takes time, and it is important to be patient and gentle with yourself as you navigate this difficult time.
