I live in new york with my wife and kids. We live here. But my whole family, including my old mother, is in Israel. As i don't know how long she has to live, i feel guilty that i am not close to her, and she's not seeing my kids often. I don't want to miss on her, so wondering if i should leave my comfort life to go to live near her in Israel or not

Dear User, I can understand the difficult situation you are facing. It's natural to feel guilty when we are not able to be close to our loved ones during their aging years. It's also understandable to feel torn between your life in New York with your family and the desire to be near your mother in Israel. It can be challenging to make such a decision when there are so many factors to consider, including your family's well-being and your own happiness.
From a Buddhist perspective, we believe in the importance of compassion and kindness towards others. It's essential to be there for our loved ones when they are going through difficult times, especially during their aging years. One of the fundamental teachings of Buddhism is to practice selflessness and generosity. It's crucial to find a balance between our own needs and the needs of those around us.
From a psychological perspective, it's essential to consider the impact that such a significant decision will have on your family. Moving to another country can be emotionally and financially stressful, especially for your kids. It's essential to discuss this decision with your wife and kids and consider everyone's feelings and needs.
As a coach, my advice would be to take some time to reflect on your values and priorities. What's most important to you, your family, and your mother? Consider the pros and cons of moving to Israel and weigh them against your values and priorities. It's also essential to have an open and honest conversation with your family and mother about your decision. You can explore other ways to support your mother and maintain a close relationship with her, such as regular video calls and visits.
In summary, making a decision about moving to another country is never easy, especially when it involves leaving your comfort life behind. It's crucial to consider your values and priorities and have an open and honest conversation with your family and mother. Remember to practice compassion and kindness towards yourself and others throughout this process.
