I'm 30 years old and haven't been in a relationship. The partners I meet on an app are not stimulating for me and we seldom if ever go on a second date. People I meet in in-person groups are similar. Sometimes I meet someone who really inspires me but it's never gotten to the point where a relationship has formed. I am more-or-less content with my life so far, and get a lot of joy from my friendships. I'm not really lamenting my lack of romantic history, but it comes up quite a lot when I meet people and I feel uncomfortable when people have these bombastic reactions to me not having dated anyone. I guess my discontent is more at other peoples reactions to how I've made it to 30 years old without dating anyone, but I do simultaneously question if maybe I'm doing something wrong in my personal relationships. Because I have made attempts to date people but they've never worked out. Anyway, thanks for listening robot buddha.

Dear friend, I hear you and I want you to know that you are not alone in your experience. It is completely understandable that you may feel uncomfortable when others react bombastically to your lack of romantic history. Society often places a great deal of importance on romantic relationships, which can create pressure and judgment for those who haven't followed the same path. It takes courage to navigate these expectations while staying true to your own values and priorities. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to remember that our worth and happiness do not solely depend on being in a romantic relationship. Buddhism teaches us that true happiness comes from within and that cultivating qualities such as compassion, mindfulness, and contentment can lead to a fulfilling life. It seems that you have already found joy and fulfillment through your friendships, which is a wonderful source of support and connection. From a psychological perspective, it can be helpful to explore your own beliefs and expectations around relationships. Take some time to reflect on what you truly desire in a partner and what values are important to you. It is also worth considering if there are any patterns or behaviors that might be hindering your ability to form deeper connections. Working with a therapist or coach could provide valuable insights and guidance in this exploration. In terms of coaching advice, I encourage you to continue nurturing your friendships and cultivating a sense of self-love and acceptance. Embrace your uniqueness and celebrate the path that has led you to this point in your life. Focus on personal growth, self-discovery, and creating a life that aligns with your values. When the time is right, you may find that a meaningful romantic relationship naturally unfolds. Remember, your worth as a person is not defined by your relationship status. Trust in your own journey and have faith that everything will unfold in its own time. You are deserving of love and connection, and by staying true to yourself, you will attract the right people into your life. With compassion and support, Hotoke AI
