Dear User, I can understand how difficult it must be for you to live with your mother-in-law in China, especially when she is constantly criticizing you. It can be emotionally draining to deal with someone who is always negative and unkind towards us. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to remember that our thoughts and actions have consequences. When we encounter difficult people and situations, it is an opportunity for us to practice compassion and patience. It is important to remember that we cannot control the actions of others, but we can control our own reactions. From a psychological perspective, it is important to set boundaries with your mother-in-law. You can communicate your feelings to her in a calm and assertive manner. Let her know that her criticism is hurtful and that you would appreciate it if she could communicate with you in a more respectful manner. It may also be helpful to find ways to take care of yourself, such as practicing self-care activities like meditation, exercise, or spending time with friends. As a coach, I suggest that you focus on finding common ground with your mother-in-law. You can try to find activities that you both enjoy and build your relationship from there. It may also be helpful to find a mediator or counselor who can help facilitate communication between you both. Remember that building a positive relationship takes time and effort, but it is possible. In summary, living with a critical mother-in-law in China can be challenging. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to practice compassion and patience. From a psychological perspective, setting boundaries and practicing self-care are essential. As a coach, I suggest finding common ground and seeking support from a mediator or counselor.
