Dear friend, I understand how difficult it can be to feel like you don't have many friends who truly understand you. It can be incredibly isolating and overwhelming, especially when you feel like you have to constantly explain or justify your thoughts and feelings to others. It's natural to feel like you want to cut off conversations when you're not feeling heard or understood, but it's important to remember that isolation can often exacerbate feelings of anxiety and depression. From a Buddhist perspective, it's important to cultivate compassion and understanding towards yourself, as well as towards others. Remember that everyone is doing the best they can with the tools they have, and that it's okay to set boundaries and communicate your needs in a kind and respectful way. Mindfulness meditation can also be a helpful tool in managing difficult emotions and cultivating a sense of inner peace and clarity. From a psychological perspective, it may be helpful to seek out a therapist or counselor who can provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to process your thoughts and feelings. It's also important to engage in self-care activities that bring you joy and help you to feel grounded and centered. This could include things like exercise, spending time in nature, creative pursuits, or connecting with supportive online communities. In terms of coaching advice, I would encourage you to focus on building deeper connections with the friends you do have, rather than cutting off conversations altogether. This may involve having some difficult conversations about your needs and boundaries, but it can ultimately lead to more fulfilling and supportive relationships. Additionally, consider seeking out new social opportunities that align with your interests and values, whether that be through volunteering, joining a club, or attending local events. Remember that it's okay to take things one step at a time, and that small actions can ultimately lead to big changes.
