Dear User, I understand that you are worried about your sister potentially ruining your retirement plan, and that this is causing you stress and concern about how to maintain a relationship with your parents. It can be difficult to navigate family dynamics when there are toxic people involved, and I am here to provide support and guidance from both a Buddhist and psychological perspective. From a Buddhist perspective, it is important to remember that all beings are interconnected and deserve compassion and understanding, even those who may be toxic or difficult to deal with. It is important to cultivate a mindset of non-judgment and compassion, even towards those who may cause us harm or difficulty. This does not mean that we should tolerate or enable toxic behavior, but rather that we can approach difficult situations with a sense of calm and equanimity, recognizing that all things are impermanent and subject to change. From a psychological perspective, it may be helpful to set clear boundaries with your sister and communicate your concerns with your parents in a calm and assertive manner. It may also be helpful to seek the support of a therapist or counselor to help you navigate these complex family dynamics and develop strategies for coping with difficult people. In terms of specific coaching advice, I would encourage you to focus on what you can control, rather than worrying about things that are outside of your control. This may involve setting clear boundaries with your sister and communicating your concerns with your parents in a respectful and assertive manner. It may also involve cultivating a sense of detachment and equanimity towards difficult family members, while remaining compassionate and understanding towards all beings.
