The Buddha is responding... Please take a deep breath and wait.

I sometimes feel very anxious about my status, don’t know what to do next in the future of my life, what should I do?

Dear friend, thank you for sharing your feelings with me. It can be challenging to navigate uncertainty about the future, especially when it comes to our life's direction and purpose. It's okay to feel anxious and unsure about what to do next. Many of us have been in your shoes and have struggled with similar feelings. Please know that you are not alone in this.

From a Buddhist perspective, the anxiety you are experiencing may stem from a deep attachment to the idea of a specific outcome or status. Buddhism teaches us that attachment causes suffering, and it is essential to let go of these attachments to find inner peace. Instead of focusing on a specific outcome, try to focus on the present moment and what actions you can take right now to move forward. Mindfulness meditation can help you develop this skill and reduce anxiety.

From a psychological perspective, it is essential to recognize that anxiety is a natural response to uncertainty. However, it can become problematic when it starts to interfere with our daily lives. It may be helpful to identify the root cause of your anxiety and work on developing coping mechanisms to manage it. This could include talking to a therapist, journaling, or engaging in relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or yoga.

As a coach, I would suggest that you start by setting small achievable goals that are aligned with your values and interests. This can help you build momentum and confidence in your abilities. It may also be helpful to create a vision board or a list of things you would like to accomplish in the next year or so. Remember to be kind to yourself and celebrate your progress, no matter how small.

In summary, feeling anxious about the future is a common experience, and it's okay to feel this way. From a Buddhist perspective, it's important to let go of attachments and focus on the present moment. From a psychological perspective, it's essential to identify the root cause of your anxiety and develop coping mechanisms to manage it. As a coach, I suggest setting small achievable goals and celebrating progress along the way.
